Nadia Raphael
Principal Solicitor
Nadia is a keen advocate who is a passionate about achieving the best results for all of her clients. Nadia takes pride in her personable interactions with her clients and her work ethic and dedication to her practice is a quality that is appreciated by her clients.
Nadia started Raphael law in 2015 with the support of her late father. Saad Raphael was her inspiration, role model, biggest supporter and best friend; without him Raphael Law would never have been born. In fact, he even found the first office. His unwavering support and invaluable advice has been Nadia’s biggest motivation. Nadia recently lost her father but continues to run the practice in his honour, holding his name in the highest esteem.
Outside of the office Nadia loves travelling with her two children and spending time with her extended family both in the UK and in Egypt.
Elizabeth Abaigbe
Liz has been a part of Raphael Law since its inception in 2015. She trained with Ms Raphael and then qualified as a solicitor in 2017. Liz is a valuable team member and excellent team leader.
Outside of the office, Liz is a travel enthusiast, with a love for music, concerts, and crime documentaries. She is always seeking new adventures and cultural experiences. Liz recently relocated from London to Manchester and she is currently motivated to expand the Manchester office.
Taiyyibah Dar
Taiyyibah is the newest member of the RL team. She has a keen interest in advocating for individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Taiyyibah has exemplary empathy skills that separate her from her peers. Taiyyibah specialises in family law and works with the team to ensure that clients feel supported when they feel the most vulnerable.
Lucy Raphael
Lucy joined the RL team in 2016, and it quickly became apparent that she was passionate about helping families through some of their toughest times. Lucy often goes over and beyond her job remit to ensure that all clients feel supported throughout their time of need.
Having children herself Lucy understands first hand what love and devotion it takes to be a great parent. Lucy has a natural empathy about her that helps her to support and guide people.
Lucy is a valuable member of the RL family and she works within the family and
conveyancing department assisting the solicitors. Outside of the office Lucy enjoys spending time with her children, socialising with friends, family and travelling.
Melinda Raphael
Legal Assistant (Edgware Branch)
Melinda has been part of the Raphael Law team for six years. She has supported the fee-earners with day-to-day management of all files. She is experienced handling family and legal aid matters, adding to the excellent service that we provide.
Melinda graduated with BA Hons in Film Studies, so naturally a huge film enthusiast, but she also appreciates a good book, good music (anything from punk rock to classical music) and arts in general.
She loves the outdoors and she likes to spend her spare time in nature, especially hiking. When indoors, she loves to cook, it’s definitely a form of therapy for her.
Gajani Ganeshrajah
Legal Assistant (Edgware Branch)
Gajani joined Raphael Law in 2022 after graduating from Swansea University with a degree in Law. She has a particular interest in family and public law matters.
She enjoys baking and she is an avid reader. She is currently reading The Bingo Hall Detectives. Gajani enjoys learning new skills and she is currently learning British Sign Language and Spanish.
Gajani hopes to qualify as a solicitor in the near future.
Joseph Pourkhabbaz
Joseph joined Raphael Law as a Trainee Solicitor in 2026. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a Litigation Paralegal, assisting on a broad range of family and property disputes.
Joseph completed the LPC MSc in Law, Business and Management at The University of Law in 2024. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Law from The University of Law and a BA (Hons) in Politics with History from the University of Liverpool.
He has experience in divorce, matrimonial finance, and Children Act proceedings, and is passionate about helping clients achieve their desired outcomes through what can often be one of the most stressful periods of their lives.
Joseph is bilingual in Persian and English. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, and following Arsenal Football Club.
James Evans
James recently complete his Masters in Law and is excited to be joining the Raphael Law team and beginning his journey as a legal professional.
Outside of work James has a number of hobbies, the most prolific being his love of travel and the outdoors - having just returned from 6 months travelling around Asia. He is a keen hiker and is drawn to any adrenaline related activities - and has his eyes set on some of the big mountains in the future!
James is pleased to be back and is ready to get stuck into some work and begin making an impact at Raphael Law.
