Child Matters

It can be hard to work out what is truly in your children's best interests. We are here to help.

For many of us, anything which affects our children, affects us deeply too.

Issues which affect a child's upbringing are usually resolved by the child's parents talking through the problem and agreeing on a solution, but this can be difficult when the parents are no longer together and often the issue to be resolved is then more fundamental, such as where the child/children should live and how often they should see the other parent and whether or not there needs to be any conditions attached to that time spent.

We at Raphael law truly believe that when a parent is advised well, and when they know the stance that court is likely to take when dealing with their family, they are more likely to be able to reach a compromise on child arrangements that would work well for their family, helping them to reach an early resolution to these issues. We are experienced dealing with early negotiations before matters escalate to the court arena. This comes with our wealth of experience dealing with nuanced children matters.

In circumstances when parents are unable to agree a solution between themselves, Raphael law is able to give you practical advice to help you resolve your dispute. Our friendly team of solicitors can explain the principles which the court will consider when they are tasked with

Children law matters can involve a number of core issues including the following:

  • Where the children shall live
  • What time they shall spend with the non resident parent
  • Whether there should be any conditions to time spent with the non resident parent
  • Whether contact shall be direct or indirect
  • Specific issues - ie.  what school the children shall attend
  • Prohibited steps order- ie. stopping a parent from doing something like taking a child abroad.
  • Relocation - ie. moving home
  • Parental responsibility orders - ie. giving someone PR of a child (can apply to same sex couples)

Whatever the case, you will be represented in court by the first class advocate Ms Raphael who is not only a Children Law accredited Solicitor-Advocate but also a qualified mediator.

She was always there at the other end of the phone if I ever needed reassurance and would always keep me updated step by step. I couldn’t have asked for a more friendly service. Amazing service going over and beyond !
Nadia has represented me for my family proceedings. She really has gone over and beyond the call of duty responding to issues at all hours! She really is amazing and has given me my little boy back even when we have been up against it at times! Most of all she has given me the belief and strength that I would not have received elsewhere. I would recommend her to anyone that needs assistance with family law

"I approached Raphael Law after l had an issue with my child arrangements. From the get go,
Nadia explained to me the issues with my case and how they could be resolved. They stood by me all the way and l am really grateful for the representation, she managed to help me get a almost 50/50 arrangement which, without them, l dont think l would have managed if lwas self litigant. This firm truly understands the complexity of family law and would adviseanyone to approach them for legal help. A big thank you to Raphael Law for helping me have my children back in my life."
